I've been gone for a while, which is lame, I know. For all two of you who sometimes bother reading this, here goes:
I've been really busy working on the One Kalamazoo campaign to pass ordinance 1856, which gives gay and transgender people the same rights to housing, public accommodations, and employment as everyone else. I worked from August twenty second right up through election day, November third, for a total of one hundred and sixty five hours.
And we fucking won.
In fact, we kicked major ass. The vote ended up being 62 - 38, which was fucking amazing. I stood outside (or ran outside) for fourteen hours on election day, and it was all worth it.
Then my crushing homework load brought me back down to earth, and I spent the next few days frantically catching up in my classes. Not so much fun, I gotta say.
I think that I've neglected livejournal so much because there are too many scary emo posts on here from when I was younger. Holy shit, I'm two years older than I was when I first started posting. Scary. No wonder I don't like looking through past entries. I'm going to plug my blog, again, which has all of my current writing. It's called "so it goes", and there are links everywhere. I think that I've really gotten better as a writer, I don't use cliche as much, and I stick to more concrete imagery, as opposed to vague notions of supposed heartbreak. Oy vey, was I a little putz.
So, yeah. I'm back, I think. I'm not going to go into long dramatic posts, nor shall I post as frequently as I did. I kind of have a life.
