Obama Is So Totally The Shit
Well, Obama was basically and generally amazing. And his music made me laugh, first they use the theme to my favorite movie, A Beautiful Mind, and then they play the theme from Remember the Titans. Which, yes, did make my mom cry. She also has been known to tear up during commercials.
Obama should win in a landslide this November. He's smart, charismatic, and he knows what this country needs. But he's also half black. Which means that a) there is a very good chance that he won't survive his term if elected and b) all of the old, white, Catholic men in America are scared shitless. And no, this isn't because he's a Protestant. So if McCain wins this election, Exxon John McSame, who possesses the charisma and charm of a troll, because of the fucking color of Obama's skin, America will have proved that it really doesn't deserve to be saved. Because something does need to change. There is something very wrong with this nation. Our VP can shoot his lawyer in the face, and the guy who got shot apologizes. Gas is four bucks a gallon, and they fuck with the prices just enough that three fifty is starting to sound reasonable. If you do the math when it comes to inflation, gas should be hovering just below two dollars. Interesting, how two oil men are in the White House, huh. Our economy is in shambles, more people are losing their homes and a major metropolitan city is still, three years later, a total mess.
The quality of public education has drastically been decreased, and there are almost no jobs. The world is fed up with our idiotic policies, and Putin is trying to blame the Georgian conflict on us. The current administration has raped the treasury, and the happy-go-lucky idiot who did it remains in power. And yet, some people are afraid to vote for Obama because he's black. Or because he could be a "secret muslim." What's scarier, a guy with dark skin, or losing your home, or your job? What is scarier, a man who might be a part of a religion different than yours, or not being able to afford medical care for your sick mother, father, son, or daughter? What is scarier, a young man promising change, or a continually pointless war? God. This is why I get so sick of America, sometimes.

In other news, I'm being forcibly dragged to Alabama over labor day weekend. Grandma wants to see her son, who just moved up from Florida. Great. My final days of freedom shall be spent trapped in a car, surrounded by Republicans. Note to self: remember to pack the Obama shirt and Bush's Last Day hat. Oh, and I have to be up in three hours. Joy.
