Three Songs and a Lyric

Oct 18, 2007 16:07

I'm stealing comment diversions from Pajiba.com again, but they're just sooo good.

Four short questions for whoever's so inclined to answer them (please?):

1) Song you want played at some point during your wedding.
2) Song you want played at your funeral.
3) Song you'd want played as you were coming out of the bullpen at the bottom of the ninth with bases loaded during Game 7 of the World Series (i.e. the 'get pumped' anthem)
4) Your favorite song lyric (either entire song or single turn of phrase).

I don't have answers yet, but rest assured I'll consult my iTunes and post them ASAP.

EDIT:
Okay, got mine!

1) Its kind of melancholy for the occasion lyrically, but the piano line from "Gold in them Hills" by Ron Sexsmith is amazingly beautiful... actually, if Ron could just come down from Canada and play a set of heart melting acoustic folk rock, that'd be fantastic.

2) As people exit the church, the amazing live rendition of "Airline to Heaven" by Wilco, and then at the burial, "Do You Realize???" by The Flaming Lips as my Taps (with confetti guns shooting into the sky if possible)

3) Just to completely throw the other team for a loop, "Gay Bar" by the Electric Six.

4)  So many to choose from, but my all time leader is still from "Life in a Nutshell" by Barenaked Ladies: "She memorized/ every pencil crayon color in the box/ her blue-green eyes/ compliment the burnt sienna in her locks."  Just another reason why Steven Page is brilliant, really
