top five things that have me geeked right now:
1. This song (scroll to bottom of story). Just when you thought Elvis Costello couldn't get cooler, he goes and puts out an album that not only rearranges his hits for symphonic jazz backing, but puts lyrics to jazz songs that previously had none. If you need me tomorrow morning, I'll be at Barnes and Noble eagerly waiting the clerks to rip open the new release shipments.
2. This trailer. I've seen it a half dozen times over the past month, but it still cracks me up and makes me hope to God this will work its way somewhere in my vicinity this spring (will travel to Ann Arbor if necessary)... dark political satire, how I've missed thee (you can only watch Primary Colors so many times, after all).
3. This syndication feed. Yes friends, my thrilling new blog is now accesible from the comfort of your very own LJ friends page (at least I think so.... i haven't actually seen it work yet). Gracias to
cherrydilemma for setting that up..... and if you haven't been to the blog yet, what's stopping you? At least i post in there every day.
4. This rumor. It's shaky at best, sure.... but the mere thought of more Arrested Development, and with true creative freedom? Granted, I'll probably wind up contributing to the show's second demise by downloading all the episodes because I can't obtain premium cable ::crosses fingers for legal dowloading a la iTunes::
5. The fact that one week from today I will be gazing upon these buildings in the wonderful world of Wilco, The Blues Brothers, Jesse Jackson, Ira Glass, Championship Vinyl (at least fictionally) and anything else I'm forgetting right now.
....and a bonus: this website. Kinda like Post Secret, but with index cards where famous indie types write messages. Okay, nothing like Post Secret at all, but still pretty kickass.
