TGAuRT #06

Our original plan was to drive from Sydney to Gold Coast but at the last minute, we decided to fly instead because 1) high fuel prices 2) wanted to meet the boys (my housemates) in Movieworld the following day 3) just too tiring unless we stopped along the way to spend a night. We could not do #3 because of #2 but in the end, the boys went to Dreamworld instead on their own and we were only informed the next day after booking our flights. It was still alright, considering that fuel prices are just ridiculously high. Will probably try that another time, maybe when there are more people sharing the rental of the car + fuel. It was just too expensive renting a car with only 2 people.

Gold Coast was not very exciting, IMHO. It was commercialised and over hyped, and not being a thrill rides/theme park person, there wasn't much to do actually. We stayed in this studio apartment called Bays of Palm, which was located 10 min away from Coolongata Airport and next to a shopping centre. However, it was about 40 min away from Surfers' Paradise and had to travel quite a bit from our place of stay. Surfers' Paradise is a very touristy place and food there was not very cheap and nice to boot. On most of the days for breakfast and dinner, we ate in. Breakfast in bed with toast, eggs and ham/bacon. Dinner was mainly simple stuff like rice, vegetables and fish.

I thought the contrasting types of

Sorry folks, but we didn't take many photos in Gold Coast, thus the short entry. We spent most our days in Surfers' Paradise and 1 day in Movieworld. And oh, a short day-trip to Brisbane as well, but there weren't many things within the city. This blog entry concludes TGAuRT. Would definitely love to travel more in future. YY is planning a trip to Beijing & HK in Jan, but it really depends on my situation (work, finances, etc).
