Post a single sentence from each WIP you have (or as many as you want to pick). No context, no explanations. No more than one sentence!
I have lots of WIPs! :D Not all of these will be the actual first line of the finished fic (if they ever get finished, which is by no means certain). I'm not including fics that I'm sure that I'm abandoning, but I'll try to include everything that I'd like to finish at some point. (The first three or four were in my Recent Documents in Word -- for the rest, they are in no particular order.)
1. The taste of salt water always reminded Mary Lou to be brave, even after all these years.
2. “Is that-” Jack bent closer- “a Gerdan hydro-warp drive?”
3. Her cheeks ache from smiling too much.
4. The Doctor felt Jack before he saw him-that jarring tingle in his second bilateral sub-cortex, and the strange twinge in his left arm, alerting him to something not-quite-right, to time that wasn’t quite in flux like it should be.
5. His hands were on her hips, and she was on top of him, moving against him, surrounding him, and he wanted to give her everything, everything that he was, everything he could be, all of it for her.
6. She was wearing a hot pink top with a faux-leopard skin coat, and large gold hooped earrings.
7. A lone figure strode purposefully along the waterfront, seemingly unaware of the rain that plastered his hair to his forehead, or the wind that blew in off the bay, whipping his coat around his legs.
8. Sarah Jane gasped and opened her eyes, startled awake by a sudden gust of wind rattling her window and the furious beeping of her watch as it lay on her bedside table.
9. Teddy Lupin can never sleep when the moon is full.
10. Ianto waited, hidden in the darkness, and cursed his heart for beating.
11. “The end is where we start from.”
Gwen turned those words over in her head, repeated them to herself, tried to believe them as she clung to him, the blank screen of Tosh’s monitor taunting her with its emptiness. “All I see is the end,” she whispered. [Okay, I cheated here -- since the first line wasn't actually mine, I figured I should add some more.]
12. When she reached the bus station, Sarah Jane discovered that she’d have to wait almost two hours before the next bus arrived.
