1. I really really liked it.
2. At a certain point I stopped trying to make sense of it, but that's okay. It was still fun!
3. I felt genuinely sad for the Doctor when he thought he was being forgotten -- even though I knew that Everything Would Be Okay. That's good writing.
4. OMG RORY. Amy's loyal soldier. RORY POND (YES YES YES!). AMY AND RORY HAVING ADVENTURES IN SPACE.
5. River=Awesome. That was definitely Jack's Vortex Manipulator, which I think is a pretty clear sign that he will be putting in an appearance in S6, in the lead-up to TW S4. I think it also indicates that River will be the person who brings him into the story. YAY. Doctor/River/Jack FTW.
6. All that "memory brings people back" stuff, plus the whole "I'll remember you for 1000 years thing" from CoE is giving me FALSE HOPE for Ianto. ARGH. I KNOW having any hope for this is stupid, very deeply stupid, because it's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, but I can't stop myself. I want him back. :(
7. I've read some theories that the whole universe-reboot means that Gallifrey has been restored. THIS WOULD BE AWESOME. (Also, River=Romana, y/y?)
8. Bleh, Amy-bashing. Which is pretty much identical to Gwen-bashing. Oh, fandom, why?
I actually have to wonder, though, if Moffat intentionally slipped a few things in there to invoke parallels between Amy and Gwen -- the police uniform, the "what's the point of you" line, pairing her with an "R. Williams"... I would be inclined to dismiss any one of these on their own, but all together ... well, my theory is that Moffat is intentionally throwing in little references to a whole bunch of stuff from the RTD era, including Torchwood, to make fans feel at home (see also: Space Whale, "waiting for 2000 years").
9. THE FEZ IS COOL. I want it back!
10. Happy endings are also cool, and they aren't necessarily any less sad or "grown up" than sad and angsty ones. Onya, Moff.
