the bad sleep well

There was a glorious downpour today in San Diego. I'm sad it'll be gone before daylight. I'm trying to graciously lap it all up before the chaos of sweltering So. Cal summer dry heat creeps in and takes over before Spring has a chance to throw some light breezes our way.

I talk about the weather a lot lately. Partly I think its because of global warming because I know that growing up, outside of El Nino, the weather never fluxuated this much in my hometown. Mostly, though, its probably because I'm boring.

So in other news, I went to the doctor today and I have, as predicted, nearsightedness. Apparently, though, its merely slight which is quite the contrast to the blindness that I thought was slowly taking over my vision. My prescription is an "as needed" kind but I did opt for contacts and I'm going to get glasses for those times when I'm in a rush when I go in for my follow-up next week. So now, not only do I proudly wear cardigans and lots of brown, I now have astigmatism and I talk freely and often about the weather. When did I become a 65 year old man?

Oh well. I'll embrace it. As I've moved into my twenties here, I've become a bit more free to be myself and try to assume the nerd role that is naturally me that I subverted for years of high school. All of the droll movie talk and excitement over everything that is mundane spilling out of me...whoa fucking whoa, I'm a loser.

Also, I'm laying on my bed with no sheets on it right now. I washed 'em before I watched a movie tonight so I know that they're done and just sitting in the dryer, but I'm debating laying here and shivering all night long because I'm too lazy and tired to get up, get them and then make my bed. It may be a long night.
