This weekend was wonderful after the insanity of the week. Eleven shows in five days has to be some sort of Tintamarre record - it certainly is for the years I've been doing it. But today was sunny and aside from moving some stuff into storage there was nothing pressing to do. Some of us went for a George's breakfast this morning, and then we spent a glorious afternoon enjoying the sun on the Cuthbertson porch, reading and chatting and snacking. I'm so happy that for the first time, I'm actually looking forward to the months following the tour. Usually the end of the tour is especially depressing for me because it means I have to go home to a claustrophobic house and a dreary retail job. But now the Sackville summer is getting closer every day and I'm excited for it! Days filled with theatre and friends and reading for pleasure. Today I made a list of all the things I want to do and accomplish over the next few months. Now it's just a matter of settling the housing situation once and for all, and I'm set!
Tomorrow we're in Amherst and Port Elgin. Port Elgin is always a neat school - two years ago they made us a welcome banner! And there's usually really young kids there too, which is cute. As long as everyone remembers their lines after having two days off, it should be great. And there's also the possibility that we may be camping in Bayside (aka the hinterlands of St. Stephen/St. Andrews) on Thursday night, which is AWESOME. We just have to get Alex to agree. I have my fingers crossed!
