Impending Doom

Next Wednesday, I believe, will reveal who the batgirl is. I have to say I liked Cassandra Cain as the current ex-Batgirl. A lot crap has been done on her character, but I liked her because she was one tough girl. There have been speculations of having more than one Batgirl or Barbara Gordon returning. I think Babs should stay as Oracle. DC, why do you have to do this to characters? Now, if Cassandra Cain is not going to be Batgirl, I wonder what will happened to her. Will Cassandra create her own alter ego or become evil again (better not)?
I watched an episode of CSI: Miami where Horatio gets "killed". It turns out he wasn't dead and that it was a ploy to convict some guy. Sometimes I wish Batman was like that plot where he's actually alive. I must not delude myself or get my hopes high. I'm not fan of the show because I like the original particularly the funny ones. The spin-offs seems to lack humour in their shows. But with Grissom gone from CSI, it was kind of hard to watch. A couple of episodes later I started watching.
Today, I was studying my notes in my religious education class. Yeah, I go to a catholic university. I have a bad a habit of doodling on any pieces of paper except assignments, tests, or anything that is turned in to the teacher. It prevents from falling asleep in class. Blue squiggles scrawled in the middle of my xerox copy about St. Paul. Upon inspection, the "doodle" looked very eerily of the grim reaper. It even have eyes and a scythe. I don't remember drawing death; in fact, it looks like "leaves" in a certain angle. Although I'm not superstitious, it could be a sign of impending doom. It is not something to be taken seriously.

Lately, I decided to reread some of my manga. The title I chose was Kuro Gane  or Kurogane. It's one of those samurai/period manga where the protagonist is wandering around à la Zatoichi, hell, like other manga involving katanas, mercenary, and a girl seeking revenge by stalking  the main character. But what sets apart from the others that the hero, Jintetsu, is some sort of robot and he has a talking sword. The only thing that makes Jintetsu alive is his heart, but I'm not sure how a human became a talking sword. Freaky thing is that there's an eye on the hilt, so careful not to poke his eye. I only have volume three of the series, so I don't know what happens next.
Much of the stories are standalones where they aren't interrelated to each other. Apparently there are only five volumes of the series which I believe is pretty small. Usually shonen manga tend to go over twenty volumes of slow pace plot or unnecessary stuff that drags the stuff. Reading this seems to be more like a seinen manga because there are no flashy moves or jintetsu yells the sword technique before slicing his opponent. The one recurring theme is letting go of the past or that past can haunt you. A female character seeks revenge, but ends up killing herself because she doesn't know how to move own. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading it.
