“Good boy, Jaejoong. You’re not crying much now.” The doctor pats Jaejoong’s head and the latter shrug. “Sonsaengnim, I’m 15 years old already. How do you expect me to cry?”
The doctor laughed. “Well, I didn’t realized that time is moving so fast. The last time I remembered giving you a therapy is when you ended up eating 3 popsicles after the session. Anyway, don’t forget to send my best regards to the dorm lady.”
Jaejoong nodded and half skipped back to his dorm where he stayed since forever. Yes he had no parents, he doesn’t even know who they are, what they looked like, and where did he get this disease from.
“Jaejoong-ah!”
The raven hair boy stopped his track. He knew who the voice belongs to. He smiled shyly and turned around. “Yunho!”
Yunho has been his only friend in the last 5 weeks. There’s barely a kid in that hospital which is secluded in the Gwangju area. Yunho got into an accident while he was in a school trip to Busan. 3 died, and 20 others had minor injuries while Yunho was the only one in comatose. Since that day, Nurse Hyori always took Jaejoong to see the poor boy. And when Yunho started to gain consciousness, they automatically became friends.
“Yunho? What are you doing outside of the ward? Come in. The doctor will be coming soon to check on you.” Yunho nodded to his mother and turned back to Jaejoong. “See you there.” He mouthed silently and the other smiled back in return.
I walked across, an empty land

It’s been a while since I last step my foot on this long and winding pathway. Everything has changed as the trees are getting old. I climbed up slowly as my strength can no longer hold my body like it used to. The crisp sound of the leaves and broken branches could be heard in every step that I take. There’s still half way to go but my legs are giving up. Sitting by a huge bald tree, I played with the leaves beside me, and then everything turned back like it used to be….
Oh how I always loved autumn and his smile. It was autumn, and I am still in high school when it all started…

“Hahahahaa! Yunho~ Stop it!” the slightly older boy laughed while grabbing a handful of fallen leaves and threw it to the taller’s face. “No way Joongie! You started it! Haha!”
After a 15 minutes of leaves fight, they ended up lying down. “We still have half way to go to reach to our spot.” Jaejoong nodded with his eyes shut. Their breaths synchronized as the shorter raven started to drove off to slumber. Caressing the sleeping beauty beside him, he whispered softly on the other’s ear. “I love you, Kim Jaejoong.” And he soon joined the latter. Little did Yunho knew, that Jaejoong heard his confession.

“Student Jung Yunho, number 050433, please step forward.” The sound resonates in the huge auditorium where hundreds of students waiting to be called on their graduation day. Somewhere around the parent’s seat area, a raven hair boy smiled happily as he heard a familiar name being called. Yunho proudly walked up the stage and receive his certificate, his eyes wandered around to search for a certain someone. A sudden commotion was heard from the parent’s seat area. Without hesitation, Yunho jumped off the stage and ran.
“Jaejoong!”

“Who is he Yunho? Why is he always there in every event of yours?” his mother asked out of curiosity and anger.
“He’s Jaejoong.”
“You should be there continuing your graduation ceremony. What is he to you? Why are you this worried about his health?” his father added.
Yunho let out a long sigh. “Please don’t talk about this right now.”
“You never disobeyed your parents, Yunho. And you’ve always answered every question that we asked. What is wro…”
“I LOVE HIM! Satisfied now!?” Yunho’s yelling made everyone in the hospital turned around and looks at him. But he cared less. A fist came in contact with his cheek which made him fell down.

Jaejoong grew weaker and weaker every week. He fainted again during his 23rd surprise birthday party which was held by Yunho.
“Yunho?”
“Hm?”
“Let’s go there.”
“No Joongie, you just fainted. You have to rest.”
Jaejoong let out a small irresistible pout which made Yunho ended up agreeing.
Walking up the pathway is no longer an easy task for Jaejoong, as his body grew fragile, his strength was nearly gone but the only thing that kept his legs moving is the person beside him who’s holding his cold hands.
“We made it. It’s been a while.” Jaejoong spoke softly as the breeze started to blow his silky hair. Yunho can’t help but stared at the beauty. He was mesmerized by the raven since the first time he they met him. A pale soft skin, beautiful face features, black silky jet, he was more than everything than a guy and a girl had.
Settling down by a huge tree on the openings facing the sea, Yunho took out a box of medium-sized birthday cake and lit the candles up. “Happy birthday to you~ Happy birthday to you~ Happy birthday dear Jaejoongie~ Happy birthday to you~”
Jaejoong’s eyes moistened. “I-I…”
“I brought this cake up here because you didn’t get a chance to blow your candles before, so make a wish and blow it now.”
The shorter boy blew the candle and tears started to fall. Yunho had never seen Jaejoong cried before. Cupping the other’s face, he wiped his tears and suddenly got a bravery to kiss Jaejoong.
“I love you, Jaejoong…”
Jaejoong hugged the taller boy and felt his warmth which somehow gave him extra energy. “I know…I love you too, Yunho.”
I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?

The guest gasped when the other groom collapse into the cold marble floor. “Jaejoong!”
2 hours of waiting in front of the emergency room seems like forever for the groom. Still in his black tuxedo, he palmed his face and cried. “Please, Jaejoong. Please don’t…”
His fear came true when the doctor came out of the emergency room and sighed. “I’m sorry, but we’ve tried our best. It’s a miracle that he had managed to hold his sickness till the age of 27. I’m sorry for the lost of your husband, Mr.Jung.”
The world suddenly fell apart…

Gathering all my strength, I managed to stand up with my walking stick. I resumed my journey to the top of the hill. I could feel the warm sun and the cold sea breeze. I kept walking up to the small opening until a certain bright light greets me at the end of the cliff.
The light slowly formed itself into a human-like. Narrowing my eyes as the light shone brighter, and then I realized who the person is. “Jaejoong?”
The beauty just smiled back at me and stretches his right hands towards me, signalling me to hold his hands. Without hesitation, I took his cold hand and hugged him.
“Yunho, I missed you…” the beautiful voice echoed through my mind.
“I missed you too, Jaejoongie. Please don’t leave me again. Please. Take me with you.”
We broke the hug and he smiled so calm to me, assuring me that it’s gonna be alright. We started to walk towards the never ending sea, hand in hand, silently making an oath to never let go. Then I suddenly saw darkness as I felt my body was pulled by gravity before I could see blinding lights and feel eternal peace.
