Jury Duty

Seems like Jury Duty has been hitting people like a plague lately. In any case (ha!), I was called a couple of months ago for 3 months of service for United States District court. Not much happened until this week, where we were called in for Jury selection process. In preparation, I went and bought a lengthy book to keep me occupied, Noble House by James Clavell. I remember seeing the mini series many years ago, and I remember really liking it.

Anyway, went in and spend a couple of hours waiting, and reading.

Finally, we were taken to the court room and had to answer various questions. Most of them were pretty general, and a couple were aimed a little more towards the case. After a whole day of questions and so forth, I ended up being selected for the criminal trial.

Today we heard opening statements, and now evidence and so forth. Tomorrow we have off, then we are told it should only take 2 or 3 more days, so pretty short. (With this, I am free of Jury Duty which has been plaguing me for the past few years. I will be exempted of any Jury Duty for 2 whole years!)

Anyway, fun fun.

In other news, I plan on seeing Spider Man tomorrow. Any feelings on it?

Also won tickets to a Heroes night on Monday, where they show the season finale on big screen in HD, food, party ..all put on by a local radio station and TV station. I have never seen the show, but the prizes sounded good...so eh, I may go to that. It was kind of funny talking to the radio person on the phone, were they ask me if I like Heroes. I say...Uh...Sure! ;) Got to give 3 tickets away, as I have too many. Will probably advertise it to the IT dept tomorrow.

Thats it for now.
