Ok, I really need to update this thing.
This last weekend has been pretty exciting. Friday, I got a new MP3 player. It’s a
Zen micro 6GB. So far, I am quite pleased with it. I decided to go with it instead of an Ipod because of specs mostly. Reviews indicate better sound. Also liked the fact it was geared more for a PC, and supports WMA.
Saturday, we had a Luau party at our house for my coworkers, my boss and some of Barb’s friends and my folks. It was great, the weather turned out perfect. Had a few games of horseshoes and plenty of Margaritas (Some enjoyed plenty of them). One of my coworkers Melanie and her husband Matt who also works at GCI arrived in a most interesting
vehicle. You see my boss Celeste looking on as Melanie waves. They parked it in front of a neighbor’s house, as our driveway and area was full. The neighborhood took notice though; many kids came up to look. They both are very cool though, and Matt is the president of the
Alaska Machine Gun Association.
On Sunday, we went out shooting machine guns with Melanie, Matt and Celeste which was great fun. It was good tension relief for the big project we have been working on. Matt and Melanie provided the machine guns, as I do not own any ;) In this
Picture you see my wife shooting a 1919 (belt fed machine gun 8mm mauser rifle caliber) , and Matt catching the brass. Another item of great interest was a couple of mortars. One which shoots soup cans with concrete in them, and the other shoots bowling balls. Let me tell you, nothing quite like watching a bowling ball being hurtled into the sky 100s of feet into the air, then fall back down into the inlet and make a splash in the water :)
Anyway, back to work…
