Looking for MP3 player input

I already have an MP3 player (Samsung YP-M6 or something like that). However, I'm considering opening an Audible.com account so I can have audio books in MP3 format and I read that my particular MP3 player won't save where you last listened or has problems loading large files.

I'm looking around at various MP3 players and I figure if I'm going to upgrade, I might as well get one that shows video too.

I'm not a huge fan of iPod or iTunes (but I'm open to being convinced otherwise). I don't like the concept that the battery can't be changed, thus forcing me to buy a new player. Though if the battery can live for 2-3 years then I'd be OK with my expensive disposable player since that's just how the technology works (upgrading to better every few years) if you my friends tell me this is really not a big deal. ITunes I guess I just don't like that they code their music so you can't copy it too many times to various devices though I think ammitnox (?) told me they are getting rid of that.

The main reason for this is that now that I have a pretty car (Princess Aura) with a stereo that lets me plug in a handheld satellite radio or other aux device (like my phone or MP3 player) then why not start listening to audio books like this too.

I'm still used to using CDs in my car and I'll have to upgrade my taped books that I want to listen to again (Dark Tower series, for one), hence the audible.com thought. Other than for car use or when I work out, I don't imagine I'll be using the MP3 player a lot, though I guess if it's super functional, that might change.

So, you MP3 experts, would you give me your thoughts on what would be a good player for me?

ETA: Hmm, apparently satellite radio has some MP3/playlist functionality too. Now it's just a question on if the portable device will also play video and does a good job of keeping place in an audiobook.

stereo, audiobooks, car, music, mp3
