Gosford Park minireview

Finally watched Gosford Park and was able to finish it. The first time I watched it I couldn't finish it. Completely my fault, which I can confirm now, as this was a very good movie, one worthy of another viewing or two as there is so much going on in each scene beyond the dialogue. What did it for me in keeping my interest this time around, I'm embarrassed to admit, was turning the subtitles on. So much of the movie is in hushed, subtle tones, and since English English is very different than American English sometimes, I missed so much the first time around about 15 minutes into each time I'd turn the DVD on, I'd fall asleep.

I'd like to plug a different sort of movie (I think I've mentioned it before) than probably most of y'all on the F-list are used to seeing: Dreamkeeper. It's a modern day Native American storytelling movie that covers different NA traditions and one of the most beautiful and moving movies I've ever seen. I don't know the movie terms so forgive me if I use them incorrectly, but some of the CG, art, cinematography, camera work are just incredible and sometimes humorous. The movie also shows a little of what modern day NA youth goes through today struggling between what road to walk down.
