Yummy Tea Goodness and Foster Kittens

Today's tea mix is Almond Biscotti Black Tea mixed with Energy ChocoLatte Chai and milk. Soooo yummy.

Foster kitten is truly a skinny kitten. He's been given deworming medication twice, but he still has diarrhea and he threw up his food last night. He only likes dry food and wouldn't eat any of the wet food I gave him. So this morning, despite the caretaker telling me he doesn't need it, I gave him some warm kitten milk replacement (KMR) mixed with wet food. He ate some of that. If he's still throwing up and having diarrhea, I will let them know he needs something else to keep him from getting dehydrated.

He's extremely lonely and needy. Caretaker advised that I shouldn't let the other cats interact with him because although he's already tested negative for leukemia, he's too weak to get a distemper shot and testing negative for leukemia at this stage isn't a guarantee. I'm really conflicted on this. Elijah did so well because he had other cats to interact with who could teach him about eating grown up kitty food and kept him occupied with playing and stuff.

Kitten didn't come to us with a name. He's one of those gray tabbies that has lots of white, similar to our first batch of kittens. His little legs are alarmingly skinny and he has a fat little pot belly. His fur kinda sticks out all fuzzy like and though he's tabby striped he reminds me of baby cheetahs--skinny with funny fuzzy short hair. jakethrash says he looks like a Felix. I'm mostly OK with that name except I had a rat named Felix.

And speaking of rats, there were four absolutely adorable, absolutely tiny, absolutely hairless baby boy rats at the shelter. One of the women at the desk said, "don't look in there." I looked in there and squealed, "OH MY GOD!" She said, "I told you not to look." I didn't bring them home because I already have seven (though I expect that to go down within the next couple of months) and since these guys are babies they'll get adopted very fast. One already was adopted (though I wish they would have forced a pair adoption).

My mood today is a hopeful "productive." I would like to write my secret origin (::groan::"I like to read stuff, and fix wordy stuff, and surf the web. The end. P.S. I really like pens.") and maybe an All Access article on Sheldon.
