I've completed a line on the Reading Bingo card and am on my way to doing more!!
To be honest, although I'm enjoying doing this on one level, I'm also aware that my obsessive nature is taking hold and making it hard for me to read anything NOT related to the card. Apparently, I'm not able to pace myself and that's affecting what I read and sucking some of the fun out of it. On the plus side, I'll probably finish before even half the year has gone; on the down side, it feels like it's taking over my life.
Ah well, it was worth a go! I'll probably not do one of these again, due to the obsessive in me who is spoiling the fun a bit. It is still fun, I just wish I could relax and pace this through the entire year.
Anyway, here's how things stand so far:
Books that complete a line:
A book that features a historical figure - Death in Delft by Graham Brack
A book with illustrations - The Travelling Vet by Jonathan Cranston
A book written in the first person - Village Vets by Anthony Bennett and J Carroll
A book with a z in the title - Zamba: The True Story of the Greatest Lion That Ever Lived by Ralph Helfer
A book with a character who has a disability - Amber's Donkey by Julian and Tracy Austwick
Other books:
A book that's been made into a TV series - Call The Midwife by Jennifer Worth
A book that was written in the 2000s - The Hippo with Toothache by Lucy H Spelman & Ted Y Mashima
A book that features a horse - True and Incredible Stories of a Horse Vet by Geoff Tucker, DVM
A book set somewhere you'd like to visit - Wanderlust by Allison Watson (Set in Canada)
A book with 7+ words in the title - They Never Told Me That At Vet School by G. Inskip
A book that was written in the 1900s - Vet in the Vestry by Alexander Cameron
I have a few others ready to read and a few still to find! I'm hoping I can persuade my obsessive brain to take a break so I can read the next two books in the 'Call The Midwife' series, because I really liked the first book! I guess I should also watch the BBC series at some point - but not until I've read the books first!!
Why does my brain do this to me?!!
