So in 2019 I read 76 books that I finished, 1 e-book that turned out to be a short story and 8 books that I didn't finish for various reasons. All of this doesn't include any Bible or fanfic reading.

Previous Years Stats and Book List for 2019 Books )
Have you ever read any of the Doreen Tovey books, about her Siamese cats? Most of them were reprinted a few years back and are now affordable, though there still about 3 or 4 that are on the expensive side (which is why I've not read all her books yet). Her style of writing is very inviting and her cats are just slightly insane!! :D There is some sadness though, with cats that pass and new ones that come along, as is the way of the cat owned sadly.
There's also a book called 'Kym' by Joyce Stranger that I loved (though whether you could get a copy in Australia I don't know. I'd happily get a 2nd hand copy here and send it to you if you're interested, I remember it being that good). It's one of the very, very few books that I've read twice! Her other books are mainly kid fiction or about dogs, but that one is all about her crazy Siamese kitty!
Homer by Gwen Cooper is a great book about a blind kitten (warning for 9/11 if that's a trigger, as she's in New York when that happens).
I could rec quite a few cat books, lol! Check out my annual book counts for previous years for some of them! Perhaps I should publish a list, lol! :D

I'm trying to think of what other cat books I've read...
The Guest Cat by Takashi Hirarde (non-fiction)
A Street Cat named Bob by James Brown (I loved both the book and the movie.
Dewey - The SmallTown library cat...
I found the end of that so unnecessarily sad :(((
The Lion in the Living Room: Hoe House Cats Tamed Us and Took Over the World by Abigail Tucker.
That non-fiction book was written by a real cat hater:(
I'm sure that I would have read others but they are not coming to mind at the moment.
The ones that I have waiting in my possession are:
The Traveling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikana
Making Rounds with Oscar by David Dosa
Iris Grace by Arabella Carter-Johnson.
I don't know if you have ever seen the documentary movie "Kedi" which is about the street cats of Instanbul, but I loved it.
Yeah you should publish a list of your cat books :)

I've added 'The Guest Cat', 'Making the Rounds with Oscar' and 'Iris Grace' to my list of books to read. I'm afraid I don't seem to get on with books that are from the cat's POV (don't know why, I mean, I used to read a lot of things like Watership Down, but maybe my tastes have changed *shrugs*).
I also struggle with factual books, like 'The Lion in the Living Room' looks to be. I've always been like that, which is probably why I chose English Literature at university, not something involving loads of textbooks to study!! I wish I could break out of it, but all the books I've tried to read that are about history or interesting facts etc I've either given up on, or in one case, struggled through ('Made in America' by Bill Bryson). But, now, I stick to things that have a story.
I shall have a think about publishing that list!

I seem to remember that towards the end of Dewey the main Library person who always cared for her was told to take Dewy home and leave her at home as she had started to be too old to be an asset to the Library:((((
To me that was so sad and unnecessarily cruel to take that enjoyment away from an old cat. :(
I went looking for my paperback to have another read of the last couple of chapters to verify that memory, but I can't find it, I suspect that once I got an ebook version that I gave my paperback to another cat lover.
I read a lot of non-fiction books but they are mainly memoirs.

I'd forgotten the ending of Dewey, it's so long since I read it and my memory isn't great where books are concerned, probably because I read them so fast!! If that is the ending, then yeah, seems unnecessary, poor Dewey :(
I tend to give most of my books away to charity shops, or occasionally friends if I think they'll be interested. I read far too many to keep them all!!
