Question about Black Panther

I haven't seen it yet, but am hoping to catch it next week when I'm visiting Jayne down south - but I haven't seen Doctor Strange or Thor Ragnarok yet either

Umm... no, that's not Thor. I don't know what the friend saw, but there's no torture and definitely no "torture porn." Thor's funnier and more "human" (he's spent more time on Earth, so it's more familiar with it -- and I *promise* that's not a spoiler at ALL; it's not even really addressed in the movie, it's just obvious, when you watch it), but I would not, at all, say that he's no longer a tough guy or anything of the sort. I swear, some people apparently look for things to not like -- and I'm not dissing water_soter's friend in that, but sometimes, some things aren't for some people.

Seriously, it's fun and funny and yeah, the "bad guy" is a woman, but that doesn't mean Thor is somehow "unmanly" or whatever, and there are no women with whips anywhere at any time! Geez!

(I'm trying really hard to not give any spoilers at all, so it's hard to defend it without saying more about the characterizations, etc., but geez, no, no, no. It's just... it's totally NOT any of that. I honestly enjoy it more than a lot of other Marvel films and I *love* Marvel films, so honestly, I'm giving it a hugely enjoyable rating. I think I watched it about three times in the first few days it was available via streaming because it's just *that* enjoyable.)
