Annual Book Count - yes, this looks like it's going to be 'A Thing'!
So in 2017 I read 44 books that I finished and only 1 book that I didn't finish. The latter is an improvement on the 5 I didn't finish in 2016, but I read 50 books that year, so I'm down on that side of things. Part of that is probably due to my husband coming to bed earlier these days and so I don't read as late as I used to. I really need to find time in the day to read, not just at bedtime!
As you can see from the lists below, if I find a series of books (like Peter Tremayne's Sister Fidelma books) that I like, I have to read and read and read until I've caught up!! Also, it's clear that I like historical detective-type books and autobiographies - specifically people involved/owning animals, people travelling/adventuring and the occasional ones such as 'Life of a Scilly Sergeant' that is about a police officer on the Isles of Scilly, just off the southern most tip of Cornwall!
(All of this doesn't include my Bible reading or any fanfic reading either.)
The 32 books I read in 2017 and would read more by that author are:
Lindsey Davis - The Third Nero
Lindsey Davis - Vesuvius by Night (novella)
Lindsey Davis - The Spook Who Spoke (novella)
Di Francis - My Higland Kellas Cats

Peter Tremayne - The Subtle Serpent
Peter Tremayne - The Lair of the White Fox (novella)
Peter Tremayne - Penance of the Damned

The 2 books I read in 2017 and am unsure if I want to read any more by that author are:
Richard Guay - A Good Man with a Dog
Jeanne Marie Laskas - Fifty Acres and a Poodle
The 1 book I didn't finish was:
Clare Campbell - Dogs of Courage.
This was about the animals in the war that were heroes or mascots. I thought it would be written as a series of stories about them, but instead, it was a fact filled account of the war years with mentions of the animals. Not really to my taste - I prefer stories and biographies to non-fiction factual books.
I have soooo many books and Kindle books stacked up to read! Maybe this year I'll get back to that 50 finished book rate of 2016!! I already started a new book last night, but seeing as I'm not even a full chapter into it, I'll put that down as a 2018 book!
