Guardians of the Galaxy!!!

So, I have watched the last two episodes of Agents of SHIELD S1 and will be posting about them later (or tomorrow), along with some of S2. But in the meantime, I've just watched Guardians of the Galaxy and it was much fun, with some wonderful daftness thrown in here and there too! A real space adventure, with action, humour and interesting (if a ( Read more... )

Wait what? Didn't you forget to mention something (someone?) in that little review?

well, it's a small role. A scene with 2 lines of dialogues toward the beginning and one shot at the end. He's one of the pilots.

Makes me feel slightly better. At least he wasn't playing a big role - like that time Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson from SG1) was in an Andromeda episode and I completely failed to recognise him!! Oops indeed! :D

I didn't even know Sharif was in it, and I spotted him the second he was on-screen. But then, my brain's WC-warped these days, so maybe that's why. ;-) But also, I think he shows up far more in the theater than on any size TV!! I don't notice him nearly as much when I watch it at home as I did in the theater, and we have a pretty large TV! :-)

I'm just so glad you enjoyed it! I really, really love it. It's not the "same" as Avengers or that part of the Marvel-verse, but it's just brilliant in its own way, and it makes me happy on pretty much every level.

The humor is what draws me in, too, really. It just "makes" the characters for me, in so many ways. I <3 it!

Yeah, watching it on my computer probably wasn't the best choice in some ways, though the computer screen is better than our old, old, brought it second-hand around 15 or 16 years ago (and no, not a flatscreen) TV!! :D

LOL I know the feeling re: computer vs. TV, only ours is the reverse. My laptop works quite well, overall, but it's ancient, by laptop standards. I did replace the hard drive on it only about 2-3 years ago, so that's probably why it's still chugging along. We got a new TV just a few months before I replaced my hard drive, though, and we love it. And the funny thing? *I* was the one who wanted a larger TV for the den, b/c my eyesight's so bad, and it's easier for me to see details when the screen's bigger. But once we got it, my hubby was grinning like an idiot b/c he now had a nice, big TV to watch sports on ;-) (And we got it super-cheap, too, which made it even nicer!)

It's lovely to see Sharif in such a big movie, but he is relatively easy to miss b/c of being in the "plane" that he's piloting. I'm sure you'll see him whenever you get a chance to watch again ;-)
