WIP Meme

Post a single sentence from each WIP you have (or as many as you want to pick). No context, no explanations. No more than one sentence.
Not all my WIPs (!) but here are a few:
1) The file on one Meredith Rodney McKay was impressive by its size, though Carson knew that was a bad sign.
2) Morning came and a) he hadn't been mauled by predators and b) the fire he'd lit hadn't burnt down the forest, a worry that hadn't made itself known to him last night, tired as he had been, but which popped up now with a 'thank goodness' feeling attached to it.
3) Jayma Dex was working in the hospital in the main city on Sateda, Hirin-Tar, when a child was brought in from off world by a military contingent.
4) Major Lorne used his ability to melt the lock, and in doing so, he also melted a fair bit of the metal door as well.
5) The storm blew him into town, the wind and rain driving him towards shelter.
6) "Of course, as the resident expert on ascension, as in, been there, done it, didn't bother with the t-shirt, or any clothes if I read the reports right, I could imagine you are interested," Rodney said as he finished demolishing the pudding.
7) Held in the restraints, he could feel the enzyme causing chaos in his well ordered mind.
8) He lay on the beach, still tightly holding the wooden barrel that he had clung to for seemingly hours as he was tossed by the sea, before being washed up on the gritty sand.
9) The creature, humanoid with white fur and grey spots, canine teeth and yellow eyes set inside a disturbingly human-looking face, lifted its head, extended its claws and roared long and loud; a challenge.
10) He really hated babysitting scientists, he thought as he drifted into darkness.
