Yo! It's spring! :D

Finally the rainy spell is over. Spring is here! With all its lovely flowers and (relatively) warm weather! <3

However... the lovely part of the holiday is over. T__T And I have had my trips. Prague and Edinburgh.

I didn't even feel like making a new entry after my trips. It's not that I didn't like the two cities but... after the awe I felt in Turkey with its Necropolis, Blue Mosque and travertine; the fun I had in Australia with its one-of-a-kind animals; and the wondrous Egypt with its thousands of years of history... Prague and Edinburgh felt so... normal. =_=;;

Some of you might find this statement rather obnoxious, haughty, or even downright annoying... but that's the truth. Lots of my friends feel that way. I think I'm going to put a stop on my Europe sightseeing trip (it's okay to go to one or two cities, but after going to so much of them... it's normal to feel like this, I think). Moreover, I should save up for my biggest target: Japan. (Gosh that place is sooooo expensive.... T__T) And I want to go to China too, if I can. But, I don't want to stop traveling to see the nature-bit of Europe. I'm thinking of going up north in winter to see the aurora... *__*

Btw.

Prague, the capital of Czech Republic. It's like any other old European cities. Its got an old history. But rather than the Renaissance bit, I saw more of medieval Europe in the city. There was even a museum specially showcasing the tortures they used to have in the medieval times. -__- Gosh I hate seeing those. I didn't go to that museum, but the ones they showed in Prague Castle was enough to put me off... =__=

What I like about the city was the street performances. There was this one reaaally good quartet performance. I love that one so much! They chose a perfect spot that gave a good acoustic effect, giving me this very strong desire to go to an orchestra performance there. My friends, unfortunately, weren't interested. So on my last night there, I went off alone to watch this orchestra! <3

And the orchestra hall was GORGEOUS! *__* (see above) It was held in Obecni Dum (aka Municipal House), in Smetana Hall. The acoustic effect was awesome too! And I love my seat! I sat in one of the balconies, and had a great view of everyone in the hall! :D

But. It wasn't a full orchestra. I was veeeeery disappointed on that. =( At the price that I paid, I thought it was going to be more.... The performance was good and all, but... oh well. And I didn't dare tell my parents that I wandered off alone in an alien city at night... ^^;; I told them that I went sigtseeing alone during the day and they were already shocked. So, yeah. Better keep quiet about that....

Then there's Edinburgh.

The place itself was pretty, but we weren't blessed with good weather there. The rain, the cold, and the wind.... Not your favourite combination. Lots of our plans had to be cancelled because of those.

But we had much fun in our third day, coz it was sunny! :D We went to a beach in a nearby town, North Berwick. Again, it was not the most beautiful beach I've seen, but it was pretty, especially with the weather. <3

But on consequent days, things weren't so good. We got locked out of our friends' place coz she left the key inside the house.... The hostel.... was rather expensive, and the cheaper one was full, so we had to spend the night in one of her friends'. >.< And the weather wasn't being nice to us again.

Since then, whenever I see cloudy skies in Harry Potter (I'm doing Harry Potter marathon right now), I'll be thinking "Oh, that's Scottish weather, all right." =p (No offense to people living in Scotland!) But seriously, I now notice how rarely the sky is blue when they're having a scene in Hogwarts area. It's always so cloudy... and yes, ever since I came to UK, I've become very sensitive of how the sky looks like. I tend to get moody without reason in rainy, gloomy days. =_=;;

Oh and I've turned 23!

I'd like to thank saizasiren , change417 , sakuraina  and ohcrepe  for the messages! =DD I apologize if you didn't get any reply. History repeated itself. I again had problem with my laptop and had to send it off to HP for a repair... =_= I remember replying, but I dunno if all of my replies went through....

Also, I dunno wether I should feel happy or sad about being 23.... -__- (I feel old... old!)

But, this is the first time I've spent my birthday flying! (in an aeroplane that is) On the 22nd, it was my last day in Prague, and it was the first time since we arrived in Prague that the sky was so clear and blue! So, my mood brightened up a lot on that day! :D Then in the flight, my friend gave me her window seat and I was able to watch those pretty fluffy clouds and the even prettier landscape down below. While I was on my train back to Cardiff, there was this rainbow and somehow it made me happy again. =) Then when I reached home, my friends and brother (who came over from Southampton) left me a sweet sweet surprise in my room, complete with cards, cakes and presents. But the real surprise came the next day. LOL. The one at that night was a 'feint'. xD

They've got a talent for surprises, those people, seriously.

And lastly, some words from Sirius Black:

"...the world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters. We've all got light and dark inside of us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are."

Love you Sirius. <3

Sorry, I'm feeling a bit sentimental. =p I've just finished re-watching the Order of Phoenix. Since he died in that one... I feel like making a tribute to him. I cried, again. LOL. I'm hopeless, I know.

I can't wait to watch The Half-Blood Prince. I haven't actually watched the whole movie. I fell asleep when I watched it in the cinema. =__=;;  I blame the jetlag, not the storyline, of course.

Right, gotta move on to my revision. I hope that's what I'll be doing after this.... ^^;;

Ta!

p/s: I've fallen in love with the whole of Beethoven Virus OST. If you were me, would you buy this? They've got some of the best soundtracks in there.... *__*

random, travel, birthday is fun
