Catch my breath

Day off today.  Woot, woot!

A million things to do, and limited time to do it in.  Isn't that the way it always is?

This morning I went up to the school and finally scheduled a parent/eacher conference with Celest's teacher.  I also got some photocopying done for my PTA committee.  It was nice.  In the copy room were several other PTA members that I hang out with so we spent our time catching up and helping each other with our various projects.  I miss that.  The small gatherings of moms I know during school and while waiting for our kids after school.  I feel so out of it because now I'm never up on the latest gossip or happenings in my friends lives.

Tomorrow is Ed's 33rd birthday!!  We don't have anything grand planned.  Tomorrow we're attending a local, family friendly Oktoberfest with a couple of friends.  On Saturday, Ed is requesting a large, aretery clogging, million calorie Eat N' Park breakfast.  We'll probably spend most of the day lounging around at home and at some point in the evening we're heading to Rock Bottom for appetizers, dessert, and beer.

I can't believe that Homecoming is just around the corner!!  Pitt needs to set the game time ASAP because we need to arrange a babysitter.  Plus our friends are planning a backyard Oktoberfest that night so I need to know what's happening for the game so I can rsvp.   I hope the game is earlier in the day.  No matter what time the game starts Ed and I can't stay out too late.  Mommy Dearest can't handle Aeryn for very long.  Toni can't walk well so she is forbidden to carry Aeryn upstairs.  That means we have to set up a playpen in the diningroom.  Aeryn knows Mommy Dearest will pick her up if she can hear her cry, so Aeryn gets no sleep because she's held the whole day.  It would be perfect if the game starts at 6 pm.  Then the tailgating should begin early enough that we can hang out and leave when the game starts.  If it doesn't start until 8 pm I don't know what we'll do.  Everything is up in the air until I get definite times.

Aeryn ate her first french fry last week!  It was a crazy rush around day and I broke down and went through the Wendy's drive through for dinner.  Bad Mommy!  Aeryn has been eating more and more real food lately so when she saw the kids eating their Wendy's she clamored for one.  Mostly she just gummed it to death.  Next up.... Twinkies and Oreos! (jk)

Since Aeryn can pull herself up now, she's been getting hurt more often.  She can get up.... but doesn't know how to get back down... so she falls.  Most of the time she lands safely, but a few times she's hit her head/face into the floor or nearby toys.  Poor baby.  She even got her first reall boo boo last night.  She fell forward with her mouth open and her gums hit on the edge of the bucket we keep her toys in.  She cut her gums apprently and I didn't know it until later because I saw blood on my shirt from when she'd been crying on my shoulder : (
