A Happy Weekend

This weekend has been full of happiness.

Wednesday I was invited to a Pampered Chef party by the girlfriend of one of the Osborn boys on Friday. I'm very glad I went! It was a room full of women, almost all of them related either by blood or marriage with a few girls from Brandy's (the girlfriend's) work place. They were witty and sarcastic and clever as they teased each other and told stories about their kids (if they had them). It didn't take long for me to feel comfortable surrounded by all these hilarious women I'd hadn't really met before then (the exclusion being Laurie who works at the post office, Cindy-my boss' wife, and Brandy whom I met two days before). I ended up spending $60 on a manual food processor and a silicon spatula (I couldn't find that type of spatula anywhere and I love them because they're flexible without being flimsy).

Saturday I went in to work to set up the new cell phones but I was missing half of the guys' SIM cards so that made for an hour of overtime! After that I managed to find every single yard sale, garage sale, or rummage sale happening that day. By noon I had acquired a new head board for free, a $5 end table, and a 25c children's story book! :D

After cleaning the headboard and rearranging my bedroom barely I cleaned a ridiculous amount. I vacuumed, went out and got an actual broom so I could sweep with something other than my small brush and dust pan, dusted, and washed down counters. After coming back from groceries and getting a large container of soap to refill my dispenser my old man and another man (I believed called Dale) showed up and wanted to give me a desk. It was gorgeous but I didn't think it would fit...so I took them and gave them a tour of my place and they also woefully agreed it wouldn't fit. So sad!

When they left I began working on Joe's Oreo Cookies and Cream ice cream cake! I layered a crust of cookies followed by ice cream then more cookies and more ice cream. Once that refroze I put fudge topping on the top of the cake. By then my pizza came and after I ate I watched Shudder Island with Joe via the phone. It ended just as the thunder storm outside got to my town and really started roaring. I turned off all the lights, lit my candle, and watched the show as it flashed across the open sky and roared over my head. It was amazing!

This morning, after my apparent ritual of store brand cinnamon rolls were baked, I put the whipped cream "frosting" on Joe's cake. When I checked on it earlier, the fudge topping had suddenly decided to move slowly off the cake. I took the cover off the cake and am refreezing it that way. I'll be refrosting it soon! I'll add a picture when it's done!

I also took a brief walk today. As I was walking I saw a whole herd of deer leaping and flying across a field off in the distance. It was too far for my camera to be of any use but trust me when I say it was amazing! I also met some ladies walking dogs. One group of ladies was from the historical society of Winner and they told me to come to the small museum (I didn't know we had a museum!) for pie and some more pictures! They said the grounds were rather pretty and I'd enjoy taking shots!
