Ever tried it candied? Works surprisingly well! MUCH better than when chocolate-covered, in My ever-so-humble opinion.
But really, the normal kind just blends so delightfully with the rich sweetness of the caramelized onion! Even so, that being said...
Ever considered messing about with hedgehog bacon? For a vegetarian option, it's surprisingly full-flavoured.
