I just got into work and started reading the headlines on New York Times.com and I saw an editorial about all the things Bush has said that he has gone back on. I started a conversation with my coworker about politics.
"Hey Carol are you a bush supporter?"
"Yeah...I just do not think we can trust that other guy."
Other selected bits of conversation
"Who says things are not getting better over in Iraq?!"
"The reporters who are in the trenches"
"Oh! Well I do not trust them. They are all biased anyways."
"Who do you trust then?"
"I trust results"
"[Insert talking points about how high hatred for the US is in the middle east now, how we are just barely holding on and how we look to every other nation]"
"We need a country that is pro-American in the middle east to start spreading democracy to the rest of area."
"All we are doing is forcing our views on a country that is basically going to be a pupptet state. How do you expect anyone to trust that kind of country?"
My head hurts so much. She does not trust the media but believes what the politians tell her.
Tell me I am wrong so that my head will stop hurting.
