Truth to the rumor

Week before last Torquere brought out Bedside Manner, an anthology of three medical-themed novellas including my 1970s romp "Haven."  Release day is always a thrill, but then this weekend I received my copy of the print version, and WOW! the rumors are true!  Seeing my name and my story in print for the first time was a thrill of a whole different ( Read more... )

I can only imagine what it's like to have a standalone novel in print! I even bought my mom a copy, and inscribed it with bum-fun caveats!

I have thought of reworking Servant to smooth the episodes into a more novelistic arc. Thank you for your encouragement! (I'm also about halfway through a magical realism novel set in a New England mill town, for which I have Hopes of Print...). Cheers!

Oh, it's not just you. I live in awe of those folks who knock off a novella a week. I've had the magical realism story going on and off the front burner for more than two years! Sigh. Your encouragement means a lot - I think I'll start researching markets for Servant. Any ideas (makes begging eyes)?

I know just what you mean about percolation time. What does it say about me (us?) that I (we both?) use coffee metaphors when describing the feeling of writing to taste?

Thank you for your kind encouragement, and the great suggestions. I had thought to query Lethe press about Servant, but now you mention t it can't hurt to send feelers out to MLR. Both of those presses are doing some really solid work. And Samhain has a great reputation for editing, which is a precious thing.

When's the False Colors release date? Coming up soon, isn't it? Forgive a bit of fannish bounce on my part. ;) I'm really looking forward to that one!

Indeed. My plot bunnies have the gestation cycle of elephants.

Less than a month until False Colors! Running Press seem like a very together outfit, and I'm delighted they're focusing on m/m historicals! Do you have any plans for an online release party or anything?

RL bubbly sounds just right. I'm a slow kid at all this promo stuff as well. EAA and Speak Its Name have been terrific resources for me. But honestly, I still need a web site!
