My favorite reads of 2008

The review team at Uniquely Pleasurable was asked to choose their favorite reads from 2008 and recommend them to readers.  I read so much wonderful stuff in 2008 it was a challenge to choose only five.  As it happened, the books I loved best in 2008 were (a) not all published in 2008 and (b) all books I did not review at UP or anywhere else.
