Valentino Retrospective.

On Thursday my sister, Mum and I drove down to Brisbane to go visit the Valentino exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane.

Wow, the dresses were amazing. They ranged from the 60's through to his last show (2009 or 2010). Wonderful to be able to see the beading up, cut and construction up close. I was hoping they would have a catalogue of the exhibition and that it would be in my price range. No catalogue but they did have a book of the exhibition which was AUD$75.00. Out of my price range and it had already sold out but you could backorder it. Mum suggested I check out the book depository online and see if they had it. They do and it's AUD$55.00. I think I'll wait until after christmas and see if the finaces allow it then. I bought 4 postcards with dresses on I liked.
Since it was school holidays the gallery carpark was full, the museumn carpark next to it was also full so we ended up parking at the next one down. The Gallery of modern art, the Art Gallery and the Museum are next to each other with walkways connecting them, then there is a few theatres and a stadium and it's all along the river. There is also outdoor art dotted around. We saw this as we went over one of the walkways.

These lego-type people where dotted over one of the theatres.

Just down from the entrence to the carpark we were in was the Brisbane Wheel. My sister and I went on it.

The views were amazing. It went round about 4 times and there was a commentary pointing out landmarks and a bit of history. Would love to go it at night and see the city lit up.

We saw this building on the other side of the river. My sister thinks it looks like someplace Batman would live. I thought it looked like somewhere the Gargoyles would reside.

We then went to Chelmsford shopping centre were I decided to buy a sconic screwdriver from the ABC shop. I got the mini LED keyring torch version. I was going to hang it on my keyring but discovered the on button activates with the lightest touch and you can't replace the batteries. So it's back in its packaging until I decide what to do with it.
