Well this weekend was anything BUT exciting! On Saturday and Sunday combined I worked 28 hours. Western was hosting a high school volleyball tournament all weekend. There were 96+ teams there...total chaos to say the least! None the less I made $12/hour so I"m not complaining! All I really had to do was sit a table for 14 hours each day and give people ice, doing the occasional injury eval if necessary...pretty simple!
The BEST part of the weekend though was what I did during those 28 hours when I was working. I knew that I was going to have a very long and boring weekend ahead of me so I wanted a new book..now that the semester is over and I actually have a week off before the next semester begins I finally had the chance to do some recreational reading. I bought The Da Vinci Code. It was EXCELLENT! I finished it in a day and a half. I seriously could not put it down. I'm not sure how many of you have heard of it, but it's a fictional story about non-fictional circumstances. Specifically dealing with catholicism, The Holy Grail, Jesus and Mary Magdalene, etc. It brings up all sorts of controversial issues and "rumors" or supposed truths about the bible and clues that Da Vinic supposedly put into some of his paintings. I won't get too into it because I think you should all read it...it's kind of heavy at times..lots of thinking, but it also includes the intriguing murder-mystery plot that we're all junkies for. It's not the kind of book that you need to be all-knowing about the bible in order to read it. It primarily sticks to the basic biblical principles, Jesus, Mary, The Last Supper, etc. I just thought it was excellent and it has me thinking about sooo many new things! Yey to mental stimulation!!!
Time to back to work..
