It's been about 4 months since I have written anything in this live journal. I must admit I do religiously check the friends page to see what everyone else is up to. Currently I am sitting in my new room in Vancouver. It's fairly nicely re-done to suit my likings. My parents helped me move over this weekend and set up internet and cable in my room so that I am just as equipped as at home. Ah, Home. The very word brings me to my ongoing feelings of homesickness. I'm always so homesick when I go away no matter what yet, the last 2 weeks in Victoria I wanted nothing but to get away from my parents. It's interesting how things work. You always want what you can't have.
Anyways, on Saturday my mom came and I moved over and Courtney came over as well. I had to coach the U14 BC team but then after that Jason took us downtown to his restaurant for dinner. He works at the Restaurant called ELIXIR and it is located in yaletown in a hotel called the Opus. It was an amazing dinner. We had lobster bisque as an amuse (sort of little appetizer, usually complimentary). We then had appetizers from the menu. Courtney and I shared this 'french dish' which was like a bowl of muscles and french fries. Really weird in a fancy restaurant but a traditional french classic. For dinner I had some crazy cooked Duck that was all fancy done and it was sooo good! Dessert we had a huge platter of sorbets, ice creams, chocolate cake and créme brulée. IT was really good! All in all we had dinner from about 8:30pm until midnight and the bill was $400 before Jason's 50% discount. Oh, not to mention we had this AMAZING white sauvignon wine. It was really good.
