My problem was RDM & company is basically they chalked it up was: IT WAS GOD WHO DONE IT. Even though the series had a lot of mythology & divinity in it, I feel that RDM's means of tying all his plot holes together especial "The Kara Explanation was lazy at best and asinine, insulting, inconsistent and disingenuous at worst.
If Kara's purpose was to lead humanity to a new home why didn't she disappear right upon arrival. She was no longer needed then her "journey" was over at that point. Having her disappear during the jump would have been more consistent with the Kara is an angel explanation then having her remain for several days and then go poof the minute her & Lee are alone. RDM during several interviews stated that Lee & Kara never left enough of them selves "on the table" for them to be together at the end. I felt like asking him if he watched the same series I did. He said that the eir relation ship was never meant to be a primary plot point for the series - again I must have been viewing a different show. Gaius Frakking Baltar, who is essentially the person most directly responsible for the destruction of 12 worlds and the eradication of 50 billion lives gets receives divine justice by being sexually serviced by an "angel of god" for years as well as spending the remainder of his life on a lush new world with a smoking hot babe by his side. However, what does Lee and Kara, 2 of the people most responsible for humanities salvation get for the years of abuse, service pain & suffering? Well lets see Kara gets a few days on a nice new world just enough time to think maybe she will get a break this go around and then gets poofed into, well into wherever & Lee gets to spend the rest of his life alone mourning his lost love. I mean not even a real farewell. Not only is this not fair but it says something profoundly wrong about good vs. bad

All good points and I totally agree. So frustrating to see so many good people left with nothing. There is a redemption arc for Gaius that I have come to appreciate, but the sacrifice of so many beloved characters really stings. Kara's poof will always be the stupidest ending I've ever seen. My heart just breaks for Lee. Thank the gods for fix-it fic. <3
