The part I find most amusing is that he apparently gave a pre-flight briefing *every time* for the 237 jumps. I mean, honestly, round about number 65 wouldn't he be running out of ways to say "good job, keep it up?" Round about number 87 wouldn't he be tempted to say, "I'm sure you can find a better use for these three minutes than this?" Round about number 114 wouldn't his pilots just stop dragging themselves in?
I may be a softie, but I liked that in the midst of all the craziness of those days, Lee's protectiveness in regards to a team he hardly knew outweighed the obvious ,expected, "go get them" military motivational precepts.
I like the softness, too. Kara's point later about being tough is well-taken, but Lee is, well, Lee. I love his adorable, tired, SCRUFFY self. *squishes him*l

And I did love how Lee stepped in as CAG on a strange ship full of pilots he didn't know, under such difficult conditions.
