It Brought Me To Tears.. Again..
I was really bored tonight so i thought.. why not watch the 'Shut Up & Sing' Dvd from the Dixie Chicks.. so i could sing a long with some songs while posting stuff on LJ...
It's a dvd about what the chicks have gone trough after Nathalie said this: "I'm ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas"
They had death threats mailed to them and people burning their cds.. everyone were calling them names and humiliated them on tv or radio..
So i really like their music.. and that's why i bought the dvd.. and i think it's good they made it!!
I love them...
but the point i wrote this post is this:
Pretty much at the end of the dvd Martie says:
"I Think Nathalie still feels pressure, about what's happened, tho we say over and over and over again it was the best thing- i can tell her and shake her all day long - it's the best thing that ever happened to me, it's the best thing that ever happened to our carreer.. We'd never change it. You're fine, you didn't do anything. (Her eyes filled with tears) And i think she still .. she still feels responsible......... And if she came to me tomorrow and said "i don't want to tour, i don't want to record anymore.. i don't want to do this" i care for her, i'd say Okay.. I'd give up my carreer for her to be happy, to be at peace..."
And after Martie said that, you see Nathalie singing Easy Silence with her eyes closed..
It just brings tears to my eyes everytime i watch this..
"So we're back here.. at the scene of the 'crime'.... and as usual.. i don't know what to say.. so i thought i'd say something brand new... Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas"
