So I haven’t shown the previous steps, because frankly they weren’t much to look at, but here is the third step, where I apply the base coat of yellow. It’ll need a LOT of touch-up work before I’m finished, but it’s cool just to finally apply some paint to a canvas for the first time in… well, it’s been a LONG time since I last painted anything in acrylic, and technically, I’ve never worked in canvas before. Fun stuff.
Anyway, here’s where I’m at as of today:
I still have to do water colour studies and pencil drawings of various things to make sure I’m on the right track, but I felt it was safe to take this step, just to get it out of the way. So much more work to do, and frankly, I need better paints, but I’m gonna persevere with these ones until I can afford to upgrade to a bigger canvas and better paints. then I get serious.
