Read part 1

The first day for everyone was something awkward, or at least for Siwon. He hadn’t asked anything about yesterday to his wife and she also didn’t say a word.

.

.

This time the three of them were eating on the breakfast table. Tiffany showing a serious and indifferent expression since she woke up; looking from his wife and his brother in law Siwon was the only one that moved his head from side to side to look for any reaction from each one of them, but it seemed like both were ignoring each other mutually. Tiffany eating delicately and Yesung just eating his scramble eggs like if there was no tomorrow.

.

.

“Stop eating like that” Both Siwon and Yesung stopped what they were doing when they heard her voice.

“Remember that you are not with mom, and you need to behave in front of others, not like a wild animal” She stared at Yesung but he remained the same, eyes closed and fork still in his mouth.

“Sorry” Was all he said before lowering his fork and palming the table to find his napkin.

.

.

Siwon didn’t know why she acted like that, cold and indifferent toward his brother, but he didn’t accept that behavior toward her brother.

“I don’t mind if he is eating like that, no when he is hungry because he didn’t eat yesterday” Tiffany wanted to protest and say something but she only tighter the hand that held her napkin and stood up abruptly, making a loud noise with her chair that made Yesung shudder for the act.

“I need to go and change so I can visit mom, I don’t want to be late” She said as she made her way out of the kitchen. Siwon also stood up, following her inside their room. Purse in hand and looking herself in the mirror for the last time before passing by Siwon’s side and getting out of the room Tiffany was making his way towards the front door.

“Tiffany, I need to talk with you” He followed her again but she never stopped, still heading to the main door as he tried to ignore Siwon.

“Tiffany, I said we need to talk, this is not right!” He grabbed her arm and pulled her so she could finally look at him. She tried to tug her arm away from his grip but Siwon was stronger than her and she give up.

“I told you I need to go and visit my mother”

“I understand, but I don’t understand why you act so cold towards Yesung. Why are you treating him like that?”

“Treating him like that? What do you mean by that?”

“You know what I am talking about. I even know that you didn’t invite him to eat with us last night” Tiffany turned around to avoid Siwon’s gaze, a smirk forming on her lips as she shook her head no.

“So he told you about that?” She continued to shake her head and pulled her arm away from Siwon.

“It seems like things never change” She said for the last time before grabbing her coat and umbrella that hanged besides the front door and made her way under the rain to her car. Siwon didn’t understand what she said but it was too late to ask as she was already inside her car and making her way away from their house, and away from Siwon.

.

.

He sighed, ruffling his hair with his left hand to clear his mind. This had never passed before; he had never felt so mad with her wife before, and she had never acted like that before. This was all new for him and as much as he wanted to take his car keys and drove to the hospital and clear this whole mess in his head, he couldn’t, not when Yesung was there. So he closed the door and went to the kitchen again, finding Yesung still there.

“I am sorry about that. I don’t know what got into her. She had never acted like that before...” He tried to apologize for Tiffany, even though he knew it was her who had to do this instead of him.

“No, that’s ok. It was just a brother and sister fight, so don’t get mad with her. She must be stressed about our mother”

“Maybe, but what she did is not ri-”

“Siwon, don’t worry. I said that it is okay with me” Yesung smiled and continued eating. He wanted to still apologize for what her wife did,
but just by seeing him eating like nothing had happened made him just give up. Sitting again on the table and joining Yesung as both finished with breakfast.

.

.

‘Click click click’ again those sounds started to rumble around the house. Typing and then deleting everything again, over and over again. Siwon was still dealing about what to write and every time he came up with an idea just after writing a whole page, he decided that it wasn’t good enough, so he deleted everything; repeating this whole process since two hour ago.  He had been locked on his office since two hours and so his back started to hurt like hell. So he got up and raises his arms to stretch his body, feeling a delicious pain as his numb muscles came back to life.

“I think it is time for a break” He yawned as he made his way out of his office and went to the living room to watch something on the TV. But when he got to the living room, he found Yesung sitting on the floor in front of the glass doors that lead to the backyard. Siwon didn’t know what he was doing there, sitting and looking outside, well if ‘looking’ could be the right word for him. He went to his direction and sat beside him, staring at him, but Yesung didn’t move. Eyes open that were lost in the grey sky as the rain hit the glass in front of him.

.

.

“Can I ask you what are you doing?” Siwon said as he tried to look outside to know if something was happening.

“I am watching the rain” He said and a smile started to form on his face. Siwon didn’t understood what he said. Waving a hand in front of his eyes to confirm that nobody had made a bad joke about him beginning blind, but after seeing Yesung don’t blink, he notice that everything was as usual.

“What do you mean by watching the rain?” Siwon asked and for some reason it seemed to be the funniest joke someone had ever told Yesung since he started to laugh out loud. Closing his eyes as he wiped some tears from his eyes for laughing so hard, Yesung reached his hand to his side to make sure that Siwon was there, then turning around so he was now facing him.

.

.

Siwon didn’t know what he was doing, nether what Yesung said a while ago, but just like the time he meet him, Yesung put both of his hand on both sides of his face. His face looked relaxed and with such a peace that he had never seen before. Both of his hands touching his face delicately, as with his thumps, he closed both of Siwon’s eyelids slowly and delicately. Now Siwon didn’t know what the raven was doing, but he didn’t say anything.

.

.

“What do you hear?” Yesung said in a smooth low voice that made Siwon’s heart stop beating for an instant.

“Your voice?” He responded, palming his face mentally for his stupid answer.

“Besides that, what else do you hear?” This time Siwon exhaled as he tried to concentrate harder about his hearing, but it was difficult when Yesung’s hands were still on his face, warm and soft against his skin.

“I can hear the rain” The sound was something that was supposed to always been there, but he hadn’t never pay attention to the sound of it until now.

“Can you hear how the drops hit the glass in front of you?” It took him a minute or so to concentrate harder to also hear the drops of the rain hit the glass door in front of him, but he did.

.

.

Everything was new for him. He had never pay attention to those little things, but now with his eyes closed he could even imagine how the rain was hitting the windows and the way it must be falling on the ground and making puddles on his backyard ground.

.

.

He was so emerged in this new experience that he didn’t notice when Yesung took his hands away from him. It was until Yesung sighed that he notices it and opened his eyes again to see Yesung leaning his face on the glass door, eyes closed as he seemed to cares the glass with his right hand.

“I like when it is raining because the glass becomes cold…”

“Do you like the cold weather?” He didn’t responded, but he looked like he was enjoying the sensation of the cold glass against his skin.

“Maybe…” Maybe? That was definitely not an answer, Siwon thought.

“What do you mean by maybe?”

“Maybe”

“I don’t get it”

“You don’t need to get it” Yesung responded with a smile and as much as he could sound weird he wasn’t. Yesung was like a mysterious to Siwon, but maybe that could be the reason why he was so interesting.

.

.

“I am hungry” Yesung said as he rubbed his belly with the same hand that was on the glass a while ago. He looked so cute like that, just like his wife when she made a pout when Siwon was mad at her and that bring back the memory of his wife and the fight that both had on the morning. But he didn’t want to think about that now.

“Would you like a sandwich?” He got up from the floor and extended his hand to Yesung to help him get up, but again he remembered he couldn’t see him so he grabbed his hand saying ‘let me help you get up’ which the other nodded and also stood up.

“Could it be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Please?” He asked as both made their way towards the kitchen, still grabbing his hand and leading him to the kitchen island so he could sit there while he made the snacks.

“Of course, is it ok if it is grape jelly?”

“Yes, it is my favorite!”

“Good, because I don’t think I would have another option” Both laughed about that and continued talking about other stuff as Siwon made the sandwiches.

.

.

“Wow! You are really a good at cooking!” Yesung said as he was devouring his third sandwich that for someone as skinny as him he liked to eat a lot.

“Make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich isn’t cooking”

“Well, at least these are better than tiffany’s sandwiches that she made for me when I was little”

“Why? She is really good at cooking”

“I don’t know. Mom always said that too, but when she had to do dinner for us when mom had to work, her food always tasted bad so I didn’t eat until mom would came back from work” Siwon got confuse about that because Tiffany had told him that she like to make dinner for her brother and mother when she came back to work.

.

.

So he decided to clarify some things with Yesung.

“I have been married to your sister for almost 3 years by now, but I don’t know why you or your mom hasn’t paid any visit to us. Can I know the reason?” The question took Yesung by surprise and made him choke a little with the piece of sandwich he was chewing. Good thing that Siwon had gave him a glass of milk before, so he palmed the table to finally found the glass and drink the relived milk that finally made him breathe again.

“S-sorry, I t-think I was eating too fast hehe…” He lied and Siwon notice it, but maybe it was too soon to ask something like that, and more when he had just met him (again) yesterday; so he decided to leave that for later and changed the subject.

.

.

“You know what? A while ago, when you showed me how to see with my eyes closed, was so amazing” Siwon said.

“Really” Yesung asked, still drinking his glass of milk.

“Yeah, I mean, I had never tried that once, but the experience was something unique if I have to say that. I could even see the whole scene in my head” Yesung was so glad to hear that that he couldn’t hide the wide smile that was now forming on his lips, and Siwon notice it.

.

.

He liked how the raven smiled, the image so pure in front of his eyes and so sweet too. Yesung was indeed handsome, with skin so white, pink lips, black hair that contrasted with his skin, cute little hands and last, but not less, beautiful light grey eyes. His eyes were so beautiful, captivating him every time he decided to open his eyes, even though he didn’t do it all the time, was something that he liked to see.

.

.

“In this kind of wheatear Mom and I like to sit silently on the couch of the living room and hear the rain. Sometimes we even fell asleep just by hearing the water fall; it is like a lullaby for us. We pass most of the time quiet and sometimes I like to sing to her because she likes
that”

“It seems like you love your mother so much”

“I do. She is the one that had been taking care of me since I went blind. She had always been with me, taking care of me, protecting me…”

“You must been having a hard time now that your mother is on the hospital, right?”

“Yeah…  I miss her and I wish she could get well soon. I want to hear her voice again” He sighed and his beautiful smile disappeared as he started to remember his mother. Siwon felt bad to see him like that and he wished he could make something for him and then something popped in his head.

.

.

Standing up to gather his empty plate and also Yesung’s plate since he had already finished, he cleared his throat and said.

“If you want… I can take you to the hospital so you could visit her…” Yesung also stood up from where he was and extended his had where he had heard Siwon a while ago to reach him and grabbed him by his arm.

“Would you please do that for me?”

“Of course I would-” He couldn’t finish the sentence as Yesung envelop him with his arms in a tight, but warm, hug.

“Thank you” Yesung was so happy to hear that and Siwon was glad to see his smiling face again.

.

.

“I am glad to see you happy again, but I am afraid I could drop the plates if you keep hugging me as tight as you doing now.

“Oh! S-sorry…” His cheeks started to tint with a red color and Siwon started to wonder if he was noticeable about that, but maybe not because he couldn’t see.

.

.

Then as he was now cleaning the dishes and Yesung was still on the kitchen island, he remembered something that Yesung said before but he haven’t pay attention to it. He did told him that her mother was taking care of him since the day he went blind, then he could see before? He thought he had been like that through his entire life. And just when he was analyzing everything, Yesung interrupted his thoughts.

.

.

“Siwon…” There was a long pause before he spoke again.

“…can we visit my mother without Tiffany? I mean, I don’t want her to know that I went to visit her…” There was no sense at all since both were brothers and both should visit his mother together.

“But both-”

“Pease…” He interrupted him and as much as he wanted to ask him why, he only said. “Okay, we can go when Tiffany is at work”

.

.

There was indeed something wrong there, Tiffany sudden behavior, both brothers don’t getting along with each other and now he knew that something happened that made Yesung blind. Everything was a mysterious for him or at least for now…
