I rewatched Hyouka from beginning to end a while ago. Even after ten years, it's still one of my favourite anime of all time. Fan translation of all six volumes of the novel series can be found on
Baka-Tsuki. The afterwords are quite interesting. Yonezawa Honobu talked about where he got some of his inspirations from. Quite a few of his stories were inspired by other mystery novels. I kind of want to read Anthony Berkeley's The Poisoned Chocolates Case.
In other news, Mystery to Iu Nakare (manga by Tamura Yumi) is getting a live action film in autumn 2023. Presumably the film will be set after the live action TV series. As long as Garo has some screen time in the film I'd be happy. If he's able to get some screem time with Totono, that's even better. On the other hand, I think I know which arc in the manga they are going to adapt for the film, so...
Mystery to Iu Nakare is a conversation-heavy series. That seems to be the case with the mystery genre in general, I suppose?
I'm tackling Dorothy Sayers' The Nine Tailors for the umpteenth time. Never finished it. Wish me luck.
