Happy Winter Solstice, everyone. I hope you are doing well wherever you are.

The Lore podcast's latest episode revolves around Christmas traditions, legends and ghost stories. You can listen to it here.

If you can't wait for the new year to arrive, the annual
snowflake_challenge will begin on January 1 and run to the end of the month.

Saiai, a Japanese live action TV series starring Yoshitaka Yuriko, has ended a while ago. It's one of the better suspense TV show I've seen in a while. The show leaves clues and red herrings, and it keeps the audience guessing the identity of the killer (or killers). The whole thing comes together quite nicely in the end. All in all it's a good show. Also, voice actor Tsuda Kenjiro is in it.

(So many voice actors are branching out to live action TV: Miyano Mamoru, Ono Kensho, Seki Tomokazu, Shimono Hiro... Even Enoki Junya did some guest voice work in one episode of Amami Yuki's Emergency Interrogation Room.)

In other news, Clamp's xxxHOLiC is getting a live action film directed by Ninagawa Mika (Sakuran, Helter Skelter). The trailer looks gorgeous. Shibasaki Ko looks great as Yuuko. (I would be a little disappointed if they aren't bringing back Suga Shikao to write and perform the theme song for the movie.)
