Of Demons and Faust

Listening to Endou Michirou's cover of "Sasayaki". (Oyasuminasai.)

Been rereading Yuki Kaori's Angel Sanctuary. In a very convoluted way, Yuki Kaori was the one who introduced me to the world of J-rock (apparently she's a Buck-Tick fan), and her manga was what got me interested in demonology (and the dark side) in the first place.

Yamazaki Kore is better known for Mahoutsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus' Bride), a dark fantasy manga heavily steeped in folklore and traditions of the British Isle. Yamazaki Kore also drew a five-volume manga series titled Frau Faust, which gives a fresh spin on the tale of Doctor Faust. For a start, the Doctor Faust in question is a woman, and the character design for Mephistopheles is certainly different from the norm. There is something about Frau Faust that really clicks with me, though I'm not quite sure why.

Thinking up a good opening line is hard...

I have a bunch of ideas about where Knight is going. I just need to organise the stuff I'd written down, add some meat and trimming, and clean it up.

The playlist for Knight is basically late 80s to early 90s Buck-Tick (I have this silly idea that Lucius likes post-punk and gothic rock) -- except for that one Dir en grey song. I always have a feeling that "Phenomenon" would become a story or at least a chapter.
