Miss Sherlock is airing right now. Take Sherlock, give it a Japanese TV drama treatment, turn Sherlock and Watson into women, give them a somewhat different dynamics -- and the result might be something like Miss Sherlock.
This Sherlock is still very much like all the other Sherlocks, albeit without the drug addiction. She uses her chemistry lab in the kitchen for making skin care products and essence oil. (And she sure knows how to dress well.) Wato-san (Watson) is a surgeon who used to be a part of Doctors Without Borders, but she has lost confidence in herself and is now doing part-time jobs unrelated to the medical field. Wato is very much a romantic, while Sherlock is very much a cynic.
Overall Miss Sherlock has been a fun watch for me so far. Takeuchi Yuko, who plays Sherlock, really nails the role -- plus she's got style and she's good-looking. She's one of the main reasons I'll keep watching the show.
Speaking of adaptations, there is also the manga Yukoku no Moriarty (Moriarty the Patriot), where one William James Moriarty is plotting alongside his brothers and his comrades to bring down the privileged upper class. Sherlock and John are doing their own thing, and inevitably Moriarty becomes interested in Sherlock. Sebastian Moran gets a James Bond-esque arc, complete with Miss Moneypenny as his partner. It's obvious that the creators are having fun with this.
