There is a new trailer for
Project Itoh, with Hanazawa Kana (in her Akane voice from Psycho-Pass) as the narrator. Project Itoh was a Japanese science fiction writer who passed away in 2009. Although he was only active for two years or so, he won both the Japan SF Grand Prize and the Seiun Award (Japanese speculative fiction award) for his novel, Harmony, which was also a special citation in the Philip K. Dick award in 2010. Genocidal Organ, his first novel, was also nominated for the Japan SF Grand Prize.
An aside: The Japan SF Grand Prize winner list has some pretty interesting entries -- Neon Genesis Evangelion in 1997 (because The End of Evangelion came out in 1997?), Ubukata Tow's Mardock Scramble trilogy in 2003 (adapted into an anime movie trilogy by GoHands), Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence in 2004, and Kishi Yusuke's Shinsekai Yori in 2008 (adapted into a TV anime series by A-1 Pictures).
Noitamina is set to adapt both Genocidal Organ and Harmony into anime films in 2015. redjuice, who provided the character design for Guilty Crown (another Noitamina TV anime series), has drawn new covers for a new edition of both novels, which will be released on Aug 8. Hmm, maybe rejuice will be responsible for the character design for both movies? (Still waiting to see if Egoist will perform the ED theme for the upcoming Psycho-Pass second season.)
Another aside: Kamisama Hajimemashita will be getting a second season. When was the last time we see a shoujo manga-adapted anime series getting a second season?
