Oh wow, Hisoka's song... talk about haunting. No wonder the fic seemed to be enshrouded in eeriness like it is.
Hi, I followed the link from AO3 to here to say how much I love (well, not *love*, I don't think it's the type of story that invoke such a positive reaction, I guess *intrigued* and *creeped out to death* is more apt :P) your fic. There's a persistent emptiness within it, that I feel came from Draco's inability to be happy. And it's heartbreaking to see how obvious it is that Harry wants him to so much.
May I ask, where does the title came from? And also, this might just be me being slow, but the very last scene unsettled me, with Harry thinking the boy's singing but then realising somebody called for him, but when he turned around Draco was no longer there... my might went straight to the worst case scenario, as it's wont to do, that- I dunno, the boy managed to assert more influence over Draco/The Manor and had locked Draco inside with him... please tell me I'm just reading too much into it.
Thank you very much. Your comment really makes my day.
I'm surprised that someone who reads HD fics knows about Yami no Matsuei. Hisoka's song is my favourite track out of the two soundtracks.
The Lorelei in the title comes from a poem by Heinrich Heine, but other than that, the title of my fic is not based on any existing quote or literary title.
One possible interpretation to the ending is that Harry could have been imagining things. He couldn't see Draco because the mist has covered up the manor. However, there are other possibilities as to what really happened at the end. I'm leaving it to the reader's imagination.
