One thing about teaching in Japan, which I think we talked about once, is that there is a rise in bullying in Japanese school, not only to other kids but to teachers as well. When a teacher tries to protect himself or stand up or something the kids parents will threaten you, the school and the city with a lawsuit, which in Japan is a way of killing your career, not to mention getting too close to the American way of doing things.
Just about any job in Japan will most likely try to work you a whole lot more then a job in America would, just a fair warning, it's just what I've heard. But from some of my friends, those who are japanese and those that have majored in japanese or is a specialist in Japanese, have told me the best job they think would be a Japanese/American Language consultant. Someone that does a lot of translation work and maybe takes care of families that are american moving over to japan or japanese families that have moved over to america, it's just an idea.
If teaching is what you want to do, I think it's a great idea. For many reasons, I'm sure you know all the stuff I mentioned, and you'll probly know more later on, I just thought I would type it out just for my own sake of giving a warning.
I hope you continue to have a wonderful time in Japan, please keep posting and giving pics. I'm really excited to hear about you going to meet a host family.
