Ya know, if I keep these novels up, I'll need to buy another keyboard, and a new set of wrists. But nevertheless, here's my recap & review of Exodus, pt 1, though ( I don't think 'recap' quite describes it. )
Perhaps Leoben's status as their 'seer' of sorts means they're willing to take him at his word. Kara's importance is something he understands, maybe? that he's told the other cylons of and that they, as much as they can, believe in because he's the one who seems to be closest to knowing what God wants with regards to her.
Leoben's very different from the other Cylons. Even the nominal missionary type, Cavil, doesn't seem to be thinking of time as a cycle or seeing the parallels the humans can see. Leoben on the other hand definitely appears to have some foreknowledge and is acting on it; where the threes doubt God and Doral doesn't seem to think about him, where the Sixes say a lot but do little and the Eights seem more concerned with individuals than a whole, Leoben's the one with the master plan. I figure if the Cylons are plagued with doubts, they'd be more than willing to take the word of the one who apparently has none.
Still, that doesn't explain what her destiny is, only that Leoben may be the only one to have some glimpse of it. And we've already seen how he can interpret things strangely... and not necessarily be right.
And yes, I'm going to hope they do deal with it - offhandedly if necessary - but if there's a confrontation to be had I hope it's between Adama and Roslin or Roslin and Sharon & Helo, rather than between Adama and Sharon. I have a feeling there's going to be more than enough angst between the races in the next few eps.
