While going through VF searching for hair, cloths, and makeup ideas, I came across a profile that belonged to a mother. Yes, a mother. She wasnt one of those old hags who are still living in the past and trying to stay "cool", she was just a mom. In the 7-8 min it took me to go through her profile, I became so insanely envious of her kids, they have got to be the most fucking lucky kids of the face of this planet. What got me so jealous wasnt the fact that she had good taste in music, and still looked youthful (though those were cool too) but the things she wrote. After reading it, and adding her to my favorites, I felt sick like I was going to puke. I think it was the stabbing reminder of reality that I dont have much of a mother. I dont care how stupid I may sound, but I'm dead serious when I say I have never been so envious in my life.
Heres some of the stuff she wrote in her profile:
"If you constantly tell a child they are stupid..

It doesnt matter how people dress.. what makeup they wear.. the music they listen to.. how many piercings or tattoos they have.. their ethnic origin.. or their sexual orientation.. what the hell does it all matter.. everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way.. I have made many mistakes in my life.. to numerous to count.. but the good that came into my life.. like my kids.. makes every downfall i have experienced worth it.. My kids make me smile.. make me laugh.. and make life so worth it! I love them all dearly. Thay are all beautiful, intelligent, and unique individuals.. They inspire me every day! If every parent took the time to realize their childs worth.. and actually took the time to listen to them.. our kids might be a little happier. Kids dont always want advice.. but i think they want to be heard."
Seriously, how many parents would say this? How many parents are open minded and actually respect their kids and their decisions to the fullest? How many fucking parents out there still seem to remember what it was like to be a kid? I know if I ever become a parent (though I dont plan on it) I will defiantly live by this.
