Well I got my apartment. Moved a bunch of my large and inexpensive stuff into it, signed the papers, and came back. I do hope I'm not getting shafted. I don't have any real reason to believe that I am, but I still hope not. This complex seems to be rather busy though. When I moved in, I was greeted to fresh...wet...paint on the walls, and the bathroom door was in the process of being replaced. The manager seemed insistent that this was the day I move in, which seems odd, since they obviously needed another day to get it ready to be lived in. The place reeked of paint, and there were many repairs that needed making. Not that I'm complaining...maybe I ought to have, but really all I need for the next week is a place to dump my belongings so that I can come back for another load of junk. Ah well. It is what it is. I have a new-ish washer and dryer IN my apartment, my own dishwasher, an actual air conditioner (with one of the knobs broken off...I was assured that would be repaired), in a nicely kept little complex with enough parking. My windows face west, so I'm a tad worried about the sunlight coming in in the evenings and baking me. I'm working on how to cover the windows.
Now...if the government would get back to me on actually PAYING me...
