The difference between reporters and journalists

While many think that both terms are interchangable, I think otherwise.

As a journalist, you comment on everyday happens, while offering an opinion of your own. But as a reporter, you merely report what's going on, in clear simple english. (And house style too please.)

Many of us have idealistic dreams of being journalists and writing beautiful articles.
But I don't think Singapore's friendly monopolistic broadsheet publishern Sue's Papa's Handsome allows for that.

Singapore only has room for reporters, not journalists. Maybe it will change someday, somehow.
