Oh the convenience of having two blogs...

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?:
I lived in a very small apartment by myself.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?:
I didn't make any resolutions for last year, it was actually a kind of depressing new year's eve

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My cousin had a baby...but I'm not sure if it was the end of 2004 or in 2005. I don't think I found out until 2005.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Thankfully, no.

5. What countries did you visit?
Germany and various cities within that country.

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
Stability in all of its forms. And some mojo wouldn't hurt...

7. What dates from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
No specific dates, as I can't remember any. Basically any time someone came to visit me in Dresden, each trip to Hamburg, and that time when Diana took me to the hippest club in Berlin where I puked in the lobby, but managed to escape the scene without anyone aside from Diana know what I had done.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Surviving the year.

9. What was your biggest failure?

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I went to the doctor quite a lot, but it was never as serious as I thought it was.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I didn't buy a whole lot of stuff, but I did get a lot of free stuff: a microwave, dvd player, a laptop...books...etc.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Marc, who took very good care of me everytime I came to visit him and who would randomly call and/or drunk dial me late at night. Won, cause it's always nice to have someone around who worries about you. Buche, who kept me hooked up with Scrubs, Simpsons, Lost, Chappelle's Show and music. Katie, Aliya, Vijita and Robbyn who sent lovely care packages and random CD mixes from Toby. Good lookin out, kids...

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My neighbors and the majority of people in Dresden.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Döner, beer, trips to Hamburg. Music on occasion.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The boys coming to visit, my internship, seeing my non-sexual life partner after far too long of an absence, seeing my brother again.

16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2005?
Lyrics Born - "I changed my mind" (rmx)

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? Eindeutig glücklicher. --> I'll keep Toby's answer: considerably happier
b) thinner or fatter? about the same
c) richer or poorer? well, my bank account says richer...

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Laughing, hanging out with people I like

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Crying, brooding, hanging out alone or with lame people

22. Did you fall in love in 2005?
Maybe, maybe not.

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favorite tv program?
All the ones Buche sent, plus Brainiac on VIVA

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Yes and no, but just like Toby said, hate is too strong of a word sometimes. I just think that now I have a much much much lower tolerance for people that I feel are trying to bullshit me.

26. What was the best book you read?
I just got through reading a slew of good books at work and Katie sent me a bunch of books that I enjoyed. I also read a few sciency things while I was in Dresden that Meghan left behind, one was called The Origins of Virtue: Human Instincts and the Evolution of Cooperation, which I found quite interesting and the other was a biography of Marie Curie. But probably the best one was a little tiny black book that Katie sent me called It's Happy Bunny: Love Bites.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Sadly, I don't think I have one...I mean I don't recall listening to any artists that were new to me...

28. What did you want and get?
Some Aunt Bill's candy homemade by my grandma

29. What did you want and not get?
My aunt's christmas package

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
uhhhh...

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 24 years old, grilled, threw a party in Marc's room, got drunk, played with the turntables...got an album and a big ass hamburg flag that I have yet to put anywhere...

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
there's not just one thing...

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
Same shit, different day

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
all of them

37. Who did you miss?
everyone

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Franzi...still number 1 in the category of coolest German chick ever

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
You can't make yourself necessary to someone...you either are or you aren't...and if it's the latter...fuck it.
