BEST DAY EVER!!
So, I realized I couldn't work my shift today due to internship stuff,so I went into work to check the schedule to see who could cover me. Then I saw that I was getting really shitty hours in the upcoming weeks and decided that Aramark could take my job and shove it. I decided to quit. It made my day a heck of a lot better.
This week is crazy with my internship, I have become company manager, event coordinator, and everything else at once for a performing group who has events/lectures/workshops which began today until Friday night. I am pretty much responsible for everything that happens until they leave. It's been super crazy, but it is great experience.
Anyway, realizing I had to work, I called two people who weren't on the schedule and both wouldn't cover my shift. So, I knew my manager's response would be to come in, but obviously an my internship comes first, as I need it to graduate. So, I decided I needed to focus my energy on the events I was involved in, not on scrambling to please this crappy corporate minimum wage job that I was leaving at the end of the semester anyway.
marley and I decided to celebrate by perusing local bars, to get a drink, and to see if anyone happened to be hiring. We walked into a bar I'd never knew existed called the Crystal Hardhat and we order out drinks and chat with the bartender. Well then, as though I were a character in a movie or something, he asked if I needed a job. HELLS YES! So, I'm training on Saturday night, and will be come an official bartender of a bar. I'm wicked excited.
